The Waterloo Oxford Crusaders capped off a perfect season in WCSSAA girls slo pitch on Wednesday afternoon defeating the Elmira Lancers 11-6 in the championship game. The Crusaders bring home the title for the 2nd year in a row.

Elmira jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the 2nd inning with an RBI triple and a sacrafice fly. However the Crusaders tied it up in the home half of the inning scoring 2 runs of their own. The big inning came in the bottom of the 5th, where the Crusaders put 4 runs on the board to take a 9-3 lead.

This was the 3rd year in a row the Lancers and Crusaders have met in the WCSSAA girls slo pitch championship. Last year, Waterloo Oxford prevailed. Two years ago, it was the Lancers coming out on top.

With the victory, it was a clean sweep for the Crusaders in boys and girls slo pitch. On Tuesday, the boys squad from WO beat Bluevale 8-6 to claim their 1st slo pitch title in school history.
