The KW Titans are thrilled to be hosting playoff basketball once again at the Kitchener Auditorium this upcoming weekend. The Titans will be hosting the Sudbury Five for a pivotal game three on Friday May 20th, as well as a potential series clinching game four on Saturday May 21st. Both games are set to tip-off at 7:00pm and the team is excited to have the fans behind them.

“We have been away from the game for so long, nothing will make me happier than to see the Aud filled, not just for me, but for the guys.” Head Coach Neal Foreman shared when discussing the excitement the team and staff have about hosting a playoff game.

The Titans head into the home stand of their playoff schedule after going 1-1 in Sudbury. Foreman was pleased with the result and is excited to have the opportunity the clinch the series at home in front of the Kitchener-Waterloo community.

“Our goal was to get a split and we achieved it. We need the energy at home, and we are excited to have the community come and support the guys.”

The Titans finished the regular season with a 12-10 record, good enough to earn them a third-place finish in their conference. A well-rounded group that has grown together both on and off the court, Foreman is pleased with how his team has progressed as a unit.

“We have a great character group; they came together to become a team both on and off the court with the goal to win a championship.”

One key member of the Titans is Kitchener’s own Juwan Miller. Miller, a former Forest Heights and Huron Heights student has been a steady presence for the squad, appearing in twenty-four games playing just under 15 minutes a night. Miller says it is an honour to represent Kitchener-Waterloo basketball at the professional level.

“I feel blessed with this opportunity. Not everyone has a chance to play professionally, let alone in their hometown in front of their friends and family.”

While it has been over two years since the Aud has hosted a Titans playoff game, Miller says the fans can expect a competitive and exciting environment for the entirety of the series.

“The fans can definitely expect a lot of emotion. We have a lot to prove to the fans as well as ourselves. With all the energy the fans bring to the game, we fell an extra motivation to go the extra mile.”

The staff and players are looking forward to filling the arena and putting on a great performance for the fans and community. With a championship within reach, Miller and the rest of the team are excited for the chance to be able to take another step closer to bringing a championship to Kitchener-Waterloo

“All in all of course we want to win but winning for the fans and seeing their joy and excitement is more of a win in itself. Without the fans we could not do it” says Miller.
