Another star player from the Assumption College Lions football team is heading to OUA football. Carter Blad officially signed on Thursday February 27th with the McMaster Marauders. Blad is a 5'11, 192 pound defensive back.

Blad spent 5 years playing with Assumption College winning a BCSSAA and CWOSSA title in his final season. He helped the Lions reach OFSAA in Hamilton and was part of a spectacular lateral play in the championship game.

Blad served as a team captain and is considered a leader on and off the field by his teammates and the Lions coaching staff. He's been a starter each of the past 3 years at the senior level and according to his coaches Blad has been an integral part of every team he's played on.

Carter has also played for the Cambridge Lions recently and returned to play for the Brantford Bisons for 2020 summer football.

Lions head coach jason Nagy had this to say about Blad.

"Carter is an exceptional athlete who has an extremely high work ethic. He's been an important part of Assumption football and it's been a pleasure coaching him at both the junior and senior level for the past 5 years. Players like him are exactly what every coach wants to help build a successful football program. Good luck at the next level!!"
