The GOJHL's Top Prospects and Future Stars games will be played on Saturday, December 28th in Waterloo.
Midwestern Conference sends 14 Top Prospects, 18 Future Stars
The Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League announced the rosters for its annual Top Prospects and Future Stars games on Thursday, and they both will feature significant local talent. The Top Prospects game includes the top players in the league that are 17- and 18-years old, while the Future Stars game showcases the best 16-year old players (2003 birth year) the league has to offer.
Kitchener’s Greg Bignell will coach the Midwestern side in the Top Prospects game, and Elmira’s Rob Collins will assume bench duties for the Future Stars. The Midwest sends 14 players to the Top Prospects game, including goaltenders Tanner Wickware (Waterloo) and Owen Porter (Brampton), defensemen Adam Soos (Waterloo), Zach Hatch (Stratford), David Mabey (Listowel), and Ben Loreto (Brampton), and forwards Brody Waters (Elmira), Sheldon Pryce (Stratford), Rylan Bowers (Listowel), Thomas Brown (Kitchener), Andrew Reynolds (Brampton), Mitch Lee (Kitchener), Jason Kirk (Elmira), and Kyle Baker (Cambridge).
In the Future Stars game, two underage goalies who are enjoying stellar rookie seasons highlight the Midwest’s roster, as Dawson Rowe (Elmira) and Dixon Grimes (Listowel) will split goaltending duties. Defensemen include Changler Romeo (Brantford), Kai Greaves (Waterloo), Luc Brzustowski (Kitchener) and Luke Devries (Stratford), and up front the Midwest sends Cooper Way (Elmira), Luke Eurig (Elmira), Dylan Richardson (Listowel), Tyler Hotson (Listowel), Brenden Anderson (Brantford), Ty Anselmini (Waterloo), Cole Melady and Camden Daigle (Stratford), Braeden Bowman (Kitchener), Nolan Forster (Cambridge), and Adam O’Marra and Christian Catalano (Brampton).
Both games will be played at the Waterloo Rec Complex on Saturday, December 28th, with the Future Stars taking the ice first at 12:00pm, and the Top Prospects game following it at 3:00pm. Tickets for both games will be available at the door.
