WCSSAA Senior Boys Rugby
The Waterloo Collegiate Vikings improved to 2-0 in boys rugby on Thursday afternoon defeating Kitchener Collegiate 31-7 at Warrior Field. 6 different players scored a try for the Vikings in tough conditions with steady rain for most of the game.
Kevin Oh, Graydon Harris, Grayson Tucker, Bryce Scarrow, Hayden Harper and Jacob Cicci all scored for the Vikings.
The Raiders record is now 1 and 1 this season and their next game is on May 8th facing Forest Heights.
The Vikings are the two time defending WCSSAA champions and return to the field on May 15th when they face the Raiders in a rematch of Thursday's contest.
District 8 Soccer
The St. Mary's Eagles and the St. David Celtics met on Thursday afternoon in both boys and girls soccer action. The Eagles won the girls game by a score of 3-0 with Taya Jones posting the shutout. Lexi Kroeker, Alex Bassanse and Tyanna Ventura scored for St. Mary's as they improve to 3-1-1 this season. The Eagles take over sole possession of 1st place in the girls soccer standings. St. David is now in 2nd place after dropping their first game of the season.
In the boys game, the Eagles also prevailed doubling up on the Celtics 4-2. Lukas Cimermancic and Thomas Rumble both had 2 goals for the Eagles. David Okwera and Nick Flanagan found the back of the net for the Celtics. St. Mary's is now on top in the boys standings as well with 3 wins, 1 loss and 1 tie this season.
